Try gaining some relevant experience! It will help build your resume and explore your interests! Consider the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/psywebserv.psych.colostate.edu\/psylist\/ra.php\">Research assistantships<\/a> in a lab conducting research that interests you.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Through a lab, you may have opportunities to attend conferences like Rocky Mountain Psychological Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may also have independent research opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will also have contact with either a PI or graduate student &#8211; build rapport with them!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check out the postings on the site above, or reach out to professors whose research you are interested in &#8211; the worst they can say is &#8220;no&#8221;!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teaching assistantships in a class you did particularly well in &#8211; reach out to the professor to see if they&#8217;re taking TAs soon!\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>TAships will help you build rapport with faculty who may eventually be able to write you a robust letter of recommendation. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Volunteer experience in something that interests you \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Many of our mentees have found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chhs.colostate.edu\/cc\/\">campus connections<\/a> helpful and enjoyable!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presenting at\/attending <a href=\"https:\/\/tilt.colostate.edu\/oura\/current-students\/showcase\/curc\/\">CURC <\/a>or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?client=internal-element-cse&amp;cx=001074770120494240330:mi6vhrgu4bn&amp;q=https:\/\/murals.colostate.edu\/&amp;sa=U&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiQ2qfz37mIAxUZEEQIHZFxGn0QFnoECAkQAQ&amp;usg=AOvVaw2prZTjEqt5PY8jhSyNcWs9&amp;arm=e\">MURALS<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pursuing relevant <a href=\"https:\/\/psychology.colostate.edu\/undergraduate-internships\/\">internships<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Joining organizations like <a href=\"https:\/\/psichi.colostate.edu\/\">Psi Chi<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with your <a href=\"https:\/\/psychology.colostate.edu\/ugadvising\/\">psych advising team<\/a> to understand different options (make sure you have access to their Canvas page and check it often for updates!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through avenues like those above, you can begin to create a <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">network of mentors<\/mark><\/strong> and peers. Instead of relying on one person to guide you, those responsibilities are diffused across many individuals. This network can also provide varying perspectives and advice for you to consider when deciding what you would like to do after undergrad.
