The GRE General Test is an exam meant to test the types of skills that you will likely need when working on your graduate education. There are three sections on the exam: (1) Verbal Reasoning, (2) Quantitative Reasoning, and (3) Analytical Writing. The test is most commonly computer-delivered with some exceptions made for the use of paper-delivered tests. The exam is offered by ETS. GRE Subject Tests are topic-specific tests designed to measure achievement in a particular field. Subject tests are offered three times a year: in April, September, and October. Subjects include: Psychology, Mathematics, Physics, Literature in English, Chemistry, and Biology. Check graduate school program application requirements to determine if/which subject tests are needed.
